Program

Arrive in the beautiful seaside town of Sestri Levante, famous for its two stunning beaches. The first is the spectacular Baia del Silenzio, and the second, Baia delle Favole, named by the writer Hans Christian Andersen after his famous fairy tales. Both beaches have fine sand and are ideal for young children. In the town center, you’ll find charming family-run shops, bars, and restaurants offering local culinary specialties, as well as an outdoor playground. Your 4-star hotel is centrally located on the seafront, with a garden, rooftop pool, and direct beach access, providing the perfect setting for relaxing and unforgettable moments. Shops, restaurants, the bays, and the train station are all easily reachable on foot. A welcome from Luca includes a voucher to enjoy your own ice cream, just like him, and a special surprise that you’ll receive upon arrival, which will accompany you throughout your stay by the sea! Don’t forget to share your photos with the Welcome Kit—Luca can’t wait to see them! After check-in and room allocation, enjoy a stroll through Sestri Levante’s town center, where numerous restaurants and bars await to serve traditional Riviera dishes. Dinner is on your own and overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel followed by departure for Genoa. Meet your expert guide, who will reveal all the secrets of little Luca! Explore the historic center of Genoa in the style of a city game. Through riddles and anecdotes, discover the city’s most authentic and charming corners. Just like in the animated film, admire the beautiful alleys (carruggi), traditional focaccherie and dairies, and main landmarks such as San Lorenzo Cathedral, Palazzo Ducale, Piazza San Matteo, Via Garibaldi, and Palazzo San Giorgio. Stroll through the narrow streets with your eyes always looking up, savoring typical Genoese street food: focaccia! And if you’re lucky, you might even chase a kitten, just like in the movie. The afternoon is free to explore independently. We highly recommend the Porto Antico area, home to one of the world’s largest aquariums, the Galata Museo del Mare, Città dei Bambini, the pirate ship, and many other attractions. Return to Sestri Levante, dinner on your own, and overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to La Spezia. After a pleasant short walk, arrive at the port and continue the adventure aboard a ferry to Portovenere, a UNESCO World Heritage site, for a guided tour of this typical Ligurian village. Admire the colorful houses, breathtaking views seen in the film, the San Pietro Church perched above the sea, and the ancient castle. Next, it’s time to explore the famous Cinque Terre, the heart of the friendship story in this enchanting animated film. Childhood summers are all about beach vacations, friendships, ice cream, and adventures on two wheels—just like in the movie! Our excursion will take you through the Cinque Terre Park aboard the wonderful Luca train, starting from Riomaggiore, the first village of the UNESCO-listed park, which includes Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso. Like Luca, you can wander the narrow streets, pause in the squares to hear the elderly ladies chatting while enjoying ice cream—but beware of repeating any phrases aloud, as Luca learned the hard way! Between villages, you can take a dip in the crystal-clear waters just like the protagonist. Surely somewhere below, Luca is waiting for you! Lunch is free: enjoy a traditional local restaurant, street food with fried snacks, or sit on the steps like Luca and savor delicious focaccia. The most famous trail in the area is the “Sentiero Azzurro” (Blue Trail), connecting the five villages and showcasing the most scenic spots. Beyond its churches and sanctuaries, the uniqueness of the area lies in its man-made terraced landscapes, perfectly depicted in the film, with vineyards producing excellent DOC wines like Schiacchetrà, and extensive olive groves. You might even spot local children on bicycles, just like Luca and Alberto! In the evening, return to the hotel, dinner on your own, and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel and luggage preparation. If time allows before leaving the Ligurian Riviera, we suggest one last unmissable stop in the Gulf of Tigullio and Portofino. The film features many references to the narrow alleys and small squares of Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. Imagine diving into the sea, embracing life, and enjoying an Italian summer set among nameless houses whose shapes and colors perfectly evoke the villages of this world-famous Riviera. Your visit could start in Santa Margherita Ligure, an elegant town with vividly colored houses, trompe-l’oeil facades, and Liberty-style hotels. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a red Vespa racing by, just like Luca! Next, head to Portofino, renowned as a symbol of the Italian “Bella Vita,” frequented by famous personalities for their holidays. Explore the ancient fishing village with its tall, colorful houses forming a semicircle around the famous piazzetta, scenes that are beautifully reflected in the animated film. Here you can visit the magnificent Castello Brown, perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the sea, and see the lighthouse that has guided sailors through stormy nights for centuries. Return to your vehicle and departure.
